Brightcove, thePlatform™, Mogulus, VMIX, Twistage and Kaltura partner with Adap.tv to offer publishers the power of online video publishing, distribution and monetization on one platform
San Mateo, CA & New York, NY [Streaming Media East Booth 202] – May 12, 2009 - Adap.tv (www.adap.tv) creators of OneSource, the open and universal platform that helps publishers source and manage ads on their online video content, today announced the formation of the Adap.tv Player Partner Program. Launch partners, including leading video player platforms Brightcove, thePlatform™, Mogulus, VMIX, Twistage and Kaltura, can now offer their customers new ways to monetize online video content with pre-integrated access to the Adap.tv OneSource ad management platform.
Through its new Player Partner Program website, unveiled today (http://adap.tv/player_program.html), video publishers now have one central hub to choose the right player to suit their needs, both technically compatible and one that offers media management services and video publishing tools complementary to the Adap.tv OneSource platform. And because Adap.tv works with more than 300 premium video publishers, program partners not only have increased opportunities for monetization, but also benefit from the opportunity to promote their players to some of the top video content publishers in the world.
"Partners like Adap.tv are crucial in giving our customers access to pre-integrated technologies to help them to expand their online video initiatives," said Chris Johnston, Director of Technology Partnerships of Brightcove. "Customers can now reap the benefits of the Adap.tv OneSource platform without any additional player integration to create and manage ad policies and conveniently serve multiple ad formats from multiple sources on to their video content."
By pre-integrating OneSource, Adap.tv strives to make it easy for publishers to access OneSource alongside each Partner's media management and video publishing tools. Publishers who use Adap.tv Player Partner video players can access the full functionality of OneSource without the need to modify their video player code.
"Publishers are increasingly adopting standardized video players rather than building their own custom solutions," said Amir Ashkenazi, co-founder and CEO of Adap.tv. "At the same time, it's important for leading video player platforms to help publishers build successful businesses around their video content. So it's natural that industry leaders from video publishing and ad management collaborate to provide publishers with the best of both worlds."
"As the broadband video industry evolves and matures, the advertising requirements are becoming more complex for thePlatform's customers," said Marty Roberts, VP of Marketing of thePlatform™. "Combining Adap.tv's OneSource ad management platform with thePlatform's media publishing system allows us to efficiently manage, publish and monetize online video for our customers."
Adap.tv OneSource is the world's most widely adopted video ad management platform, embraced by more than 300 publishers to monetize online video content in 71 countries. OneSource lets online publishers source and manage ads from their in-house sales team or from video, display and text ad networks into their video content. The Adap.tv OneSource platform gives Web publishers control over what ads are displayed and when and how they're shown, enabling them to balance revenue with viewer experience. Since the launch of OneSource in mid-2008, the number of video streams monetized globally per month using OneSource has increased ten-fold.
Additionally, the company announced that OneSource will support Adobe's new standard media player framework, code-named "Strobe," an open framework that enables the creation and delivery of high-quality, monetized video experiences. Strobe simplifies the development of media players by allowing developers to assemble pluggable components from Adobe and partners in the Adobe® Flash® Platform ecosystem.
